FAQs

Is this a day or overnight trip?
This is a day trip; hence accommodation is not needed. We don’t actually enter Bulgaria because we obtain the stamps at the border. Overnight trips can be arranged but please note this will increase costs dramatically.
Which airports do we use?
To reach Istanbul, we use either Bodrum or Izmir, dependent on flight times and ticket prices. We use the new Istanbul airport on the European side, which is a state of the art air travel hub aimed at making air travel quick, comfortable and easy.
What information do we need to book?
1- Passport copy (Full name, D.O.B, Passport number and expiry date.)
2- HES Code.
3- Your address for pickups
I haven't received my residency visa. Can I still go?
You must have a valid residency visa. Alternatively, If you have an official provisional letter while you wait for your residency that states you can leave and enter Turkey, you can join the trip.
Is it a guided trip?
Yes, 2 guides escort you all time
How much is the deposit, and how can I pay?
The deposit is 50% which is 650 lira, and this can be paid via debit or credit card or cash. Please note this deposit is for flights, and the COVID test, therefore, is not refundable.
Do we give refunds for positive COVID tests?
Since you have already had the COVID test, this is not refundable. Due to the airlines' policy, we are also only able to change booking dates for flights. If you cancel ten days before departure, the total cost minus flights will be refunded. After this period, no refunds will be given. Upon receiving positive COVID results, we can postpone your trip.
How do I get my COVID test results?
We arrange the testing for you and obtain the test results because we need to show these at the border. We will have both written and printed copies.
I live in Bodrum/Kusadasi. How can I get a PCR test? What is the cost?
We are based in Didim Altınkum. We can still arrange a PCR test in Kusadasi at Saydam Egemed hospital. In the Bodrum area, you can arrange your test or for a minimum of 6 people; Egemed staff will come to Bodrum to test you. PCR test cost 250 lira per person. If you arrange your test, we deduct this from the cost of the trip.
Can we shop in Bulgaria? Are there duty-free shops?
We don't enter Bulgaria, so there are no shopping choices available. You can buy duty-free items at the border. The limit of any liquids is 100ml, and drinks must be sealed in a bag, which the duty-free shops don't do. If you want to buy alcohol, we can leave them with the drivers to post to us, but this is at your own risk.
What time do we get back home?
Depending on the flight and transfer conditions, you should arrive home between 11.30 p.m. and 12 a.m. We use separate minibuses for areas like Akbuk, Yesiltepe and Altinkum, so you won't be on a bus longer than you need to. It is a long day, but unfortunately, necessary for some residency holders, but we aim to make it a smooth and comfortable journey.
We live in Bodrum/Kusadasi etc Can you pick us up?
If there is a minimum of four people in your booking, we can pick up from Bodrum or Kusadasi for an extra 100 lira supplement. Alternatively, we can arrange a hotel in Altinkum if you want to make your own way here.
