Overview

Spend a day at Sirinyer racecourse in the Buca district of Izmir.

It first opened in 1856 and held Turkey’s first horse race, cementing its status as an iconic destination.

Covering 118 acres, visitors view the horses on parade and then place their bets.
(If any group members do not want to go to the races, we can drop them off at a shopping centre instead.)

How many races can we watch?
Race schedules vary from day to day, but on average, you will see roughly eight races, with each scheduled every 30 minutes.
What are the lunch arrangements?
We have lunch before the races start. This is not included in the ticket price. Alternatively, during the day, vendors at the track also sell snacks.
What is the arrangement for people who want to shop instead?
On the way to the racecourse, we will drop you off at Optimum shopping centre, one of the best in Turkey with a wide range of stores. On our way back from the races, we will pick you up to head back to Altinkum.
Can I place bets on the races?
Yes you can. Your guide will show you how.
